Raga Gond
In this Raga compositions appear from pages 859 to 874. Gond is an expression of triumph, however, these feelings are balanced and in perspective ensuring that there is also an aspect of humility. Therefore although there is a sense of knowing and understanding the achievement, there is not a feeling of becoming obsessed or getting lost in achievement itself. It was used b Guru Ram Das Ji, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Bhagats Kabir ji, Ravidas ji, and Namdev ji. The Aroha in this raga is Sa,Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni, Sa and Avroha is Sa, Ni, Dha, Ni,Pa,Ma,Ga,Re, Sa and Pakar is Re, Ga, Ma,Pa, Ma, Ma,Pa, Ni, Dha, Ni, Dha, Ni, Sa, Ni,Dha, Ni, Pa, Dha, Ma. Guru Ram Das Ji
The Lord, the Inner-knower of hearts, pervades all, and as He leads , so do men act.
So you serve such a Lord, O my Mind, who saves you from all your Maladies.
O my mind, Contemplate your God: and utter only His Name.
Without your Lord no one can save nor slay you, so why do you worry ?
Guru Arjan Dev Ji
The Lord, who Blesses with Honour those without honour, who satiates the Hunger of all the world.
Who keeps us whole in the depths of the mother’s womb, I salute ever that Lord, my God.
Contemplate you that Lord, your Glorious Master, who keeps you company within and without.
Bhagat Kabir Ji
Neither is my Soul human, nor angelic. Neither it is an ascetic, nor a Shaivite.
Neither it is a Yogi, nor a Sanyasin, neither it has a mother, nor it is son of any one.
Then, what is it that abides in the temple of the body? Nay, no one can find its limits.
Bhagat Namdeva Ji
One is attracted by the sweet sounds, as is the deer.
Who gives up his life, but thinks of his passions alone.
Bless me,O’ God, that I see You like this,
that forsaking You, I turn not to another.
Bhagat Ravidas Ji
If one bathes oneself at all the sixty eight pilgrim- stations.
And worships all the twelve lingams of stone.
And digs up wells and tanks for others to bathe in.
But if one slanders the Saints, then all these works go in vain.
