A Couple of Verses

I’ll be with you always.

I’ll be with you always,

behind your back ever to support you,

even after I’ve gone from this perishable world,

I will always be with you,

in thoughts, in your dreams,

in your actions, in your hopes and aspirations.

In your raw ideas and cosy feeling,

I’ll always be with you perhaps for ever

even after I ‘ve left the world.

I’ve Failed You, My Beloved.

I’ve lost the gamble of life,

I have failed to become an ideal father for my kids,

I couldn’t make them agree to marry and give you a couple of grandchildren.

who could’ve been your crutches in the old age.

Forgive me, I’ve failed you

in my foolish dream of idealism

of being liberal and progressive,

and I was not strict enough to impose

my way of life on them.

Sorry, I was not despotic enough

to manage my household in worldly way.

Alas! Angelic powers have driven in me

desire to acquire these traits that made me too soft

like a wax candle to melt in fire of real world.

But it is certain that I’ve failed you,

Forgive me, as ‘ to forgive is divine’.
