On last Sunday I went to Jaipur to attend a family function. In my last blog dispatch I mentioned about the arrival of new member in our family- daughter of my niece. So on her baptism ceremony a Yagna was held at Jaipur and I was fortunate one to attend it. In the Yagna the word suggested for her name was to begin with the alphabet 'd' or 'kh'. However her parents had already named her Anvi and Sharanya , believed to be synonyms of Goddess Durga. On my return journey I dropped for a few hours at Ajmer to meet my friends and relative. Everything was smooth except for the unfortunate incident in which I lost my wallet containing my several ids like voter card, PAN Card, service card and ATM besides some cash. However this incident did not deter me much as I continued my journey and accomplished the aim of attending the function which was a source of great solace to me.

Last Week
Last week was quite eventful as a new member was added to my family as my niece gave birth to a girl child on the day the first Dy.Prime Minister and Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel so my instant reaction for naming this new arrival was something to be related to this great architect of modern India. As Patel is popularly known as Iron Man so I named this young infant as Ferrous, keeping in mind that her Nani is post graduate in Chemistry and has taught Chemistry in Schools throughout her life. This arrival of new child went on to make my mother as Super Nani (Great grand mother) coinciding with the release of the film by the same title. Another event was my participation at XI Annual Conference of Rajasthan Association of Studies in English (RASE) at Mahila P.G. College Jodhpur which was attended by academic luminaries like Dr.Amarjit Singh from U.S.A, Prof. S.D. Kapoor from Delhi University and Dr. Rajul Bhargava from Rajasthan University. As the theme of the conference was exploring folklore so there was also a concert by famous folk artistes of Rajasthan Langas. I also presented my paper on Glimpse of Life in Medieval Age as projected in Waris Shah's Heer Ranjha which threw light on the jewels, clothes, food items and cosmetics as described by the author in marriage ceremonies.

Last Week
Last week was quite eventful for me as I got opportunity to lead one of the premier youth organization of the country concerning the preservation of culture of the country. Though I was unwilling to take up this job but the then Chief of the organization was a model for me whom I can never hope to emulate in my life. I offer a few lines in his honour.
You are like a bedrock of strong will and determination
Like a light house guiding the ship of lives of people
Like a pole star, fixed in your belief
guiding and inspiring the young people of my country
You are my guide, friend,philosopher
And above all my mentor.
An ideal being, blend of virtues diverse
An epitome of God's creation you are
Atleast to me.
May your affection shower on me ceaselessly
Like a fountain which flows continuously.
I am thankful to all those who have sent their good wishes to me and hope that I will continue to get their cooperation and affection in future too. Good wishes of my well wishers have given courage and hope to take up this responsibility making me the third Chief of the organization from college the first two being Dr. S.S. Shrotriya and Dr. A.L. Jain to whom I dedicate the above lines.

An Eventful Week
Last week was quite eventful as I got my first opportunity to attend a film festival at Udaipur though only for a day. It was a nice collection of documentaries on the social, economic and political themes of political relevance. The movie I watched of Gulabi Gang was epitome of women empowerment and their growing sensitivity toward their surroundings in order to raise their voice against atrocities against women in particular and against humanity in general. A hundred salutes to a great personality like Ms. Sampat Pal, who could garner such confidence and awareness in her followers. Besides this I got chance of an outing with my colleagues along with their families to Bhanwar Mata for a day. It was quite a nice trip to the lap of nature. Then I got opportunity to attend farewell dinner to outgoing Principal of Sainik School first in the guest house of the school and then at Castle Vijaypur at Vijaypur which is situated some 30 kms from Chittorgarh. Perhaps today we will be giving parting gift to the Principal. Another good news that came from Punjab is finalization of wedding of my wife's nephew who is working in the States and will be coming for this occasion in the month of December. Today I am hoping to get more news from Punjab as my better half will be coming back after seeing my son off to France for his research degree in Law. She also went to Punjab to inquire about the well being of her parents for a week.

Life and Games
Life is like game and world is like a play field. Drawing this analogy further every moment in life is an endeavor to excel though it may not convert into desired result. But still the struggle must go on till the last long whistle is blown. Even though the defeat is imminent yet the struggle must go on to try to reduce the margin of the defeat and save the honour and get a grace even in defeat. The most tragic thing is that in the face of defeat you have to continue the game till the end in the hope of getting a graceful defeat. Every second passes with great difficulty when you are certain that defeat is as sure as death.

Sojourn Continued
Last week I left the sojourn during Summer vacations incomplete. On the way to Palampur we paid tribute on the way and Anandpur Sahib and also visited Virasat-e-Khalsa which is a giant museum. Proceeding towards we also visited Chintpurnidevi temple. Reaching Palampur in the evening We rested for the night at our hosts residence, who was also a relative also. Next day our hosts escorted us to various places of tourist interest like Jhaknni Mata, Dharamshala and McleodGanj. Today we visited Dalai Lama's Temple at Mcleod Ganj, which was the first Buddhist temple I visited in y life. I also visited the Church where Lord Elgin Viceroy of India breathed his last and was buried there. We also visited the temple of Asur Bahaksunath who had origin from Ajmer in Rajasthan. On our way back to Palampur we paid tribute at Chamunda Devi temple. Next day we visited Baijnath which is a place where Ravana meditated to get vardana from Lord Shiva. It is strange that Himachal Pradesh, popularly known as Land of Angels( Devbhumi ) has also given shelter to some asurs or devils also like Bhaksunath and Ravana.
